Day 4
I was itching to get back into the gym on Wednesday, my vacation and then power outage really set me back, so by the time Wednesday came I was super excited to get back to working out. I hopped on the treadmill, I realized that 5 days off is A LOT, I was stiff! There was nothing special about my workout, but I did it and felt great afterwards.
Day 5 - Rocked!
Once again, I didn't want to go, had this overwhelming urge to go shopping (who knows, maybe running will help me kick my shopping addiction?), but I didn't, I went to the gym. I was sore, but I got back on that horse anyway.
I'm having major problems with my iTunes, I've downloaded a bunch of new songs but can't get them onto my iPod b/c of issues with my account, so I've been listening to the same songs for the last 2 months and I'm so tired of them, so when I work out I'm constantly paying more attention to my music then myself and always changing the song, so I decided yesterday to hit play and leave the stupid thing alone, who cares if I hated the song, I was just going to let them play. Surprisingly, it's alot easier to work out if you're not constantly reaching across your body changing songs on your arm band. I left the iPod alone, let the music play and had a great workout!
I shaved a whole minute off of my mile! That's huge, especially since I'm still in the walking phase, I haven't even started running yet! I am, however, feeling the burn today. I could feel the pain yesterday as I was about halfway through but kept telling myself 'don't stop, you're almost done, and the end result will be so cool' and it really was, yes, I'm sore today, but it's a good sore because I feel so satisfied.
I'm not going to work out today, I'm going to let my body rest, but tomorrow I've got a 2 mile leisure walk planned and Sunday morning a trail jog in the works. Hopefully I'll stay disciplined enough to complete them. I never work out on the weekends, so if I can do it this weekend, I think I'll be good, it's getting over that first hurdle that's always the hardest!
