Wow, I'm slacking, this is not good.
The weekend started off like I planned. I got up Saturday morning and did my 2 mile walk/run. I had mapped out my route earlier in the week on a path that I drive next to every day. In the car it doesn't seem like that tedious of a workout, but on foot it's tough. It's down hill then up hill then up hill then back. This was suppossed to be my endurance walk, not fast, but just a slow steady pace it was supposed to be about the distance not the pace, I didn't treat it as such and ended up jogging up the hills and by the time I finished the first mile I was wiped out and sweating like a pig - not what I had planned, plus, I still had to turn around and go back. I told myself, "take it slow, it's supposed to be a nice walk" but by the time I got about halfway back I realized that I was still speed walking and really needed to slow it down, so I changed my playlist to some seriously slow music and I think that did the trick, maybe next time I just won't even listen to any music, who knows, maybe then I'll actually crawl.
Thanks to my overachieving on Saturday I totally scratched my trail run on Sunday I was wiped out and again, my hips were sore, those hills were killer, totally different from driving up them! Dave and I went to the Brooks and Dunn concert on Sunday night and went up and down the hill at Nissan Pavilion at least 10-15 times, so I'm counting that as a small cross-training workout (I'll take whatever I can get :-).
I rested on Monday, work was no good, I was in a meeting ALL. DAY. LONG. and regular life just got in the way, that's my excuse for yesterday too, so today I deserve to get my you know what kicked at the gym, we'll see how that goes.
I've signed up for lunch time yoga classes at work, so at least one day a week I know I'll get a good workout in. It's kind of funny to me that Yoga counts as cross training, in my mind cross training is something like Tae-bo or running bleachers, not Yoga, but hey, if it counts, I'll take it!
