Yay for Yoga!

Yesterday was yoga day, it was great! I'm so glad I finally signed up for it! At my office they offer 8 week sessions for $40, you can't beat that, I don't know why I've been putting it off, I used to do yoga when I taught dance and I loved it.

I was a little nervous going in, but after the first few minutes I fell right in the groove and was immediately challenged. I quickly learned that I am not in the same shape I was in 10 years ago (DUH!) and this, like my running, is going to take patience and practice to get where I want to be. I want to be able to hold the poses in the advanced form, not the modified versions that I was doing yesterday, but that means I'm going to have to work at it. I want to be able to hold a position and not feel my entire body shake because it's working so hard, again, patience darling patience.

I left the class feeling so good, I wanted to go back to the gym and do a full workout, I was pumped, but the class was an hour, according to my schedule, that was my day of cross-training and yoga counts, so I'm trying to stick to a schedule. Today it's back to the gym for a run, and hopefully my knee won't shoot out of my leg. Only two more days of these gosh awful shoes and then maybe some relief with some good support - I hope!
